The right advisor can pay for themselves many times over, the wrong one can do more harm than good.
BASE is disrupting the financial management industry with honest advising. While working for a Fortune 500 company, Jen observed clients regularly paying hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars with no visibility and very little face-time with their financial advisor. A convoluted pricing structure makes that possible. Instead, BASE takes a straightforward approach with a flat rate financial planning fee. Our fee-only payment structure comes with no commissions or kickbacks, only the utmost transparency and valuable, actionable guidance you can get so that your money can work harder and faster for you.

ASSET UNDER MANAGEMENT
An advisor that charges a % of the total value of a client's portfolio could be anywhere from 1-2%, so if the portfolio is worth $500,000, the fee could be between $5,000-$10,000 per year and as the portfolio grows that fee gets larger and larger.
Why this stinks: Usually advisors require a minimum to start working with them, not allowing people that are just getting started the attention and support they need. For those that have higher net worth or assets this can take impact overall growth of the portfolio. Imagine having 30% less in your retirement account because of a 1-2% fee.
COMMISSION BASED
These advisors seem like they don't cost you anything but will actually cost you the most in the long term. These advisors make their money by selling you high fee, high expense products. They are sales people - NOT advisors. They get paid by their company once they sell you a product (ie. annuities or whole life insurance and other products.)
