BASE’s goal-oriented approach starts by demystifying the heavy jargon that makes financial management so overwhelming and digging through all your assets, accounts, budget, and conscious spending. With a higher level of financial literacy, and a partner by your side, you’ll rely less on those ‘accredited advisors’ – who don’t have you best interests at heart – and be able to ask the right questions, understand your accounts and plans, and implement small changes to make your money work for you. SEVERAL YEARS AGO
at the outset of my own financial journey, I started asking the questions: how do you talk to a financial advisor? Which qualifications do you look for? What resources exist to help me? No one would talk to me. Not even my parents’ financial advisor – because I was a small financial fish in a big pond. So, as any ambitious problem-solver would do, I affirmed to navigate and understand money management myself.
my goals:
1. Pay off debt, 2. Merge finances with my partner, and 3. Plan my perfect wedding. Also, stop to rest and go on a vacation along the way.
I WORKED
overtime to get the necessary certifications that makes one a financial advisor and secured a job at a large, Fortune 500 brokerage firm. Here, I learned a ton about the industry, but also had a window into a world where no one worked for their clients’ benefit. It was a game of getting the next commission, which meant working with ‘wealthy’ individuals – those with smaller bank accounts, like myself, were largely ignored.

the most impactful way to use my experience and knowledge was to be that unbiased financial coach for others that I had been searching for years before. So, I developed the BASE Planning Program to be a bit more human – providing actionable steps to financial ability in order to achieve personal goals, and shifting your whole mindset around money along the way.
